E-Portfolio Entry

Activity Name & Description

My role as an Advisor to Queer Student Organizations

Over summer and early into fall semester (2013) I was asked to by two Queer organizations to be their advisors at University of California, Irvine.

Delta Lambda Phi Social Fraternity: “was founded by gay men for all men. Since then, our Fraternity has grown into a thriving international organization with Chapters all over North America. Above all, Delta Lambda Phi is set apart by its Brotherhood, meaning both the quality of its Brothers, as well as the lifelong bonds of friendship and support that are unique to this organization”.(add citation)

Irvine Queers: (Irvine Queers (IQ) was founded in 1972. Irvine Queers is a social group for Queer and Ally  students from UCI and the local community. IQ is an undergraduate, social, educational, political, and service organization, with the purpose to enhance the Queer & Ally experience at UCI. (add citation)

I was excited to be involved but also very reluctant do my heavy load trying to balance the multiple roles in my position as a Program Coordinator. In the end, I agreed.
